I have a very limited budget and I am loking for a turbo or supercharger that is affordable for a 2006 4.0 V6. I am clueless on what is really out there as affordable options. There is NO way I can afford Pro-Charger or Vortec price level stuff. I am not interest in NOS for this car. Rather, i am wonderng if there is reliable and affordable good quality turbo or S/C kits out there that really work.
Although my wife works, I am a full time caregiver for my very sick mother and I worked up through the end of 2008. Then we moved in with her and I worked a side job up until the end of 2009. Now, her care requires 24/7 and I am not able to work. So, the Stang budget is very small now. Any affordable ideas are weclome! THANKS in advance for sharing! |

Not sure if this will help but this is what I found. I looked on ebay, and found some, but it doesn't say if they are for a 4.0 though.

Yeah, but supercharger has instent power. I seen on another site, that the turbo is awesome, only once it gets spoolied up or whatever. I love the sound when its doing that..lol

![]() 2 spool? Cool! See what I know!!! ![]() I'm not looking for major boost, as I whip all the little Hondas and Neon's around here with no problem. Not sure why guys think these are cool cars? But, would like something extra to give a little kick. And, since we show more than we go, a cool looking EXTRA blingy thingy is always welcome for the cars shows and stuff. I can always make a fake dyno sheet like the ricer boys do. ![]() |

I have a NEW Holset that would work well,
turbo only no other parts. T4 flange, probably a 60 mm eqivalent and 2.5 exhaust I have 350.00 in it plus freight.

There are a couple of for sale threads over at www.mustangcollective.com for turbos and superchargers for the 4.0.
I have the Xcharger supercharger on my 4.0, really like it a lot and so far it has taken me to a 13.42 at the track. A friend has the Powerhouse turbo on his car and broke into the 11's this year. Turbo will give you the most power - Xcharger builds boost very quickly since it is a roots type positive displacement blower, but doesn't have the power at the top end like a turbo or one of the centri blowers (Vortech, procharger, etc). |
